Suits and Backpacks!

Source: Asiaone

While it is not unheard of for men to carry backpacks well past their student years, this is more acceptable in creative industries where casual attire is the norm.

But not only is it virtually impossible to keep documents neat in a backpack, but it is also very likely that your bosses would not be too impressed if you met a client with contracts in your backpack.

Is it appropriate for a man dressed in a button-down shirt, trousers and leather shoes to carry a backpack to work?

I don't think it really matters, to be honest.

I just added a couple of lines from the article. Some old CEOs might not be too impressed if you pull documents out of a backpack!

Backbpack is fine if it it holding the attaché case holding documents. Otherwise it indicates that 1. You don't have sufficient transportation for a briefcase, 2. Carrier may need to lighten his load so that they aren't dropping the briefcase from the weight of their items. (or conversely work out.)

Even if the back pack is made of "Fine Corinthian" leather, with prada/Tom H/Boss logo's on it, it's still a beast of burden container. And in the biz world a person wouldn't want to be seen as another peasant right?

Isn't that how mormons dress?

Well, I had trouble carrying the fancy briefcase on my bicycle.

Should you really be riding a bike in a suit and goofy bicycle helmet?

I'd have to run you over.
