Sony Ping Pong Mandarin Commerical
HAHAHA that's pretty funny.
For those who can speak Mandarin. That's pretty bad right?
Mandarin's such a tonal language there's no way these guys can pronounce it properly on such short notice. Especially Manning who's from the south. I hear LeBron is learning Mandarin. Perhaps they should have gotten him!

Bush Selling Herbal Tea!
George W. Bush lookalike Brent Mendenhall has been appearing in tea commercials on Japanese TV.
Thanks to @WatariGoro for the translations! :)

Clerk: (Dept.) Chief...
Chief: Huh?
Clerk: Do you think the (business) proposal all right like this?
Chief: OK.. Farm!
Clerk: (stares, blankly)
Chief: (can't make out what he's trying to say. might just be, "What?", like he doesn't understand why she's just staring at him or may not even be in Japanese. The Bush-actor's pronunciation is really bad.) (Yeah what's NANCHATE!?)
Clerk: (continues to stare, blankly)
Text on the screen says: "Wash it away with our tea."
Narrator: Wash away stupidity with our tea...introducing the gentle herbal taste of our new Herbal Clear!

Chief, staring at own reflection in mirror.

Chief: (points) You're wearing my pattern!

Awful KY Intense Commercials
These commercials are so dumb. Gotta have a bit more energy for arousal jelly! It's too quiet, needs a jingle or something. Maybe I just don't get the commercial.
I'm not sure what this arousal jelly is for. Do people really need a 'nudge' like this to get in the mood? I don't need THAT much more satisfaction!

God, those are boring. I wouldn't want them appearing in the middle an intense hockey game or something.

Jay Chou breaks Asian celebrity endorsement fee record

Source: Yahoo
The economy is dipping by the day, but artistes'endorsement fees are still soaring. Recently, Faye Wong was reported to have received about S$4million for her endorsement of a shampoo, breaking the Asian celebrity endorsement fee record. Less than a month after Wong set the record, Jay Chou broke it with S$6million received for endorsing a motorbike.
The motor vehicle company said they have been discussing the endorsement deal for more than a year, but started working on it only recently.
"Jay Chou is very cautious about what he endorses and will only agree to it after fully understanding the brand," the company's spokesperson said.
Within the contracted period of endorsement, the company will invite Chou to design a series of motorbikes in conjunction with the conceptual elements of his songs.
The commercial will be shot in Beijing in mid-May. The company will also be sponsoring Chou's China concerts.
No matter how bad the economy is, the rich get richer and people still buy luxury items. Jay Chou can sell anything. He literally has to beat girls away with a stick!

McDonalds Hockey Commercials
Source: Calgary Puck
Those that know me, know I am frequently on the Calgary Puck forum discussing a variety of issues. What makes the forum great is that even though it's a group of Flames fans, they talk not only about the Flames but what Flames fans are interested in (which is pretty much anything). Their "Off-Topic" is hilarious and would rival any forum of any kind.
So as I was surfing this morning, I found a thread with the old and new Mcdonalds hockey commercials. More on that later. One thing that's always bugs me about Asians is our kneejerk reaction to anything that might mock Asians. From yellow-face, to the Chinese or Japanese accent or the chinky-eye or just plain being "too Asian", a phrase I absolutely detest.
Here's an example: a 4 billion dollar lawsuit against Miley Cyrus
Embarassing!
So here's the first commercial with a french-canadian accent.
Youtube Link
Are french-canadians insulted? I've never heard anything. They probably had a good laugh.
Here's the newest one with a Russian accent.
Youtube Link
I wonder if Russian's are insulted. I doubt it. They're probably having a good laugh.
I'm a hockey fan so I love these cute commercials. I can't wait for the 3rd commercial when obviously the Quebec goalie and Russian sniper faceoff!
If you're Asian and you get easily uptight and protective whenever you see an Asian stereotype and if you laughed at these two commercials, then you're a hypocrite, plain and simple.
