Japanese voted world's best tourists. France surrenders!

Source: Mainichi

The Japanese have been voted the world's best tourists for being clean, polite, quiet, and uncomplaining, according to a study conducted by Internet-based travel agency Expedia, in which hotels around the world were asked to rank the behavior of foreign tourists.

What has been the focus of attention among media outlets around the world, however, is the news that French tourists have come in last, or 27th place. Hotels cited French tourists' behavior of being "cheap, rude, and unwilling to learn the local language" as reasons for their unpopularity. The neutrality of the study is uncertain, but there is no question that French tourists are not very well liked.

Speaking of popularity, the French in France don't have much, either. TripAdvisor.com, a free online travel guide, ranked Paris as "the most unfriendly city in Europe."

The French will always speak french wherever they go and expect others to know french too, even in Japan! Sacre Blue! SO RUDE!

Sort-of like the Americans who will expect everyone else to speak English, rather than bother learning any foreign language?

As an aside, the "France surrenders" heading clearly shows the racist nature of the message. Even if an English source rates the French as the least popular tourists (oh gosh, what a surprise), there is no "surrender" in any of that.

And Paris the most unfriendly city? CLEARLY written by somebody with an agenda other than reality.

If the French were as terrible as (some) Anglo-Saxons want to make you believe, why does France continue to be the most popular tourist destination in the world?

The post is correct. I was treated better in the US than in France. My bad speaking french was mocked so many times in Paris. My bad speaking English was never mocked and alot people helped me in LA. Alot of Americans gives me directions.

I have not been to Japan. Sounds very nice and friendly.
